Garbage truck accident statistics

according to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), there were 90 fatal crashes involving large trucks involved in the waste and recycling industry in the United States in 2019, resulting in 97 deaths.

It’s important to note that this data includes all types of large trucks involved in the waste and recycling industry, not just garbage trucks. Additionally, this data only reflects fatal crashes, and does not include non-fatal injuries or accidents that do not involve fatalities.

It’s important to remember that any type of accident involving a large vehicle like a garbage truck can be serious and result in significant injuries or even fatalities. If you or a loved one has been involved in an accident with a garbage truck, it’s important to seek medical attention and legal advice as soon as possible.

Can I file a personal injury claim if I was hit by a garbage truck?

you may be able to file a personal injury claim if you were hit by a garbage truck in Las Vegas, but the specific circumstances of your case will determine whether you have a valid claim and the likelihood of success.

To determine whether you have a valid personal injury claim, you would need to establish that the driver of the garbage truck was negligent in some way and that their negligence caused your injuries. For example, if the driver was distracted, speeding, or violated traffic laws, such as failing to yield the right of way, you may have a claim. Additionally, if the garbage truck was not properly maintained or if there were issues with the garbage collection equipment that led to the accident, you may also have a claim against the garbage truck company or other parties involved.

It’s important to note that personal injury claims can be complex, and it’s often beneficial to consult with a personal injury attorney who has experience handling cases similar to yours. They can assess the facts of your case and help you understand your legal options and the potential value of your claim.
