A pedestrian who was struck while walking east of the Las Vegas Strip on Monday is currently suffering from critical injuries, as reported by the LVMPD.

The accident occurred around 7:00 p.m. near Sahara Avenue and Santa Rita Drive.

The vehicle that struck the pedestrian was headed westbound on Sahara Avenue. The pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk, according to Metro.

The pedestrian was taken to the University Medical Center with critical injuries.

The vehicle is believed to be a 2014-2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a potentially missing grill and cracked windshield.

The accident is under an ongoing investigation. No further information has been released at this time.
