A 46-year-old Las Vegas resident was killed in a car crash Tuesday evening in the south valley, as reported by Metro.
The incident happened shortly before 8 p.m. near Russell Road and Maryland Parkway.
The man was headed East on Russell in a 2005 Chrysler 300 when he drifted off the road and hit a traffic light. The car then returned to the road, continued East Bound, and rear-ended another vehicle.
Although the driver of the vehicle he hit suffered only from minor injuries, the driver of the Chrysler was pronounced dead at the scene.
This is the 73rd traffic-related fatality reported by Metro in the Las Vegas valley this year.
