Multi-vehicle accident statistics in Nevada

According to statistics from the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), multi-vehicle accidents are a significant problem on the state’s roads. In 2020, there were a total of 14,558 multi-vehicle crashes in Nevada, resulting in 9,049 injuries and 69 fatalities. This represents an increase in the number of multi-vehicle accidents from the previous year, with a 6.7% rise in 2020 compared to 2019.

One factor that may contribute to the prevalence of multi-vehicle accidents in Nevada is the state’s high traffic volume, particularly on major highways such as Interstate 15 and Interstate 80. Additionally, weather conditions such as high winds and dust storms can create hazardous driving conditions, leading to an increased risk of multi-vehicle collisions. The NDOT is working to reduce the number of multi-vehicle accidents through initiatives such as public education campaigns and increased law enforcement presence on the roads.
