Intersection Accidents and Their Associated Dangers
2024 is turning out to be one of the most dangerous years on Las Vegas roads to date. With an average of 55.6 car accidents each and every day, the idea driving can seem a bit intimidating. Intersection accidents pose some of the most dangerous threats to drivers due to their increasingly high speeds and pedestrian-related collisions.
Below are a few situations in which an intersection accident could occur:
- Speeding to make a light: Drivers often accelerate on a yellow-light in an attempt to beat the red-light signal. Oftentimes, they end up running a red-light at such high speeds that the traffic who has a green signal doesn’t have enough reaction time to stop their vehicles, causing a high-speed collision. These can be catastrophic.
- Failing to yield on a flashing yellow
- Failing to yield to pedestrians
Victims of intersection accidents often suffer from whiplash, concussions, broken bones, brain injuries, injuries from broken glass and burns from airbag deployment.
