Las Vegas, NV (Sunrise Manor) – July 3, 2024 – A bicyclist is in critical condition after a truck driven by a person suspected of DUI hit him. Immediately after he was hit, another vehicle struck the bicyclist.

The accident occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 on Nellis Boulevard near Mt. Rushmore Parkway as reported by police.

The bicyclist was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of Nellis Boulevard when he crossed the elevated median when he was struck by the truck.

The truck then hit the back side of the bike, throwing the bicyclist into the southbound lane where he was once again struck by another vehicle.

The cyclist has been identified as a 59-year-old man who was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

The driver of the truck has been identified as a 44-year-old man who showed signs of impairment and has since been arrested on DUI-related charges.

The driver of the second vehicle has been identified as a 22-year-old Las Vegas male and showed no signs of impairment, as reported by police.

This is an active investigation.
